Why Framingham?

Boston, MA and the surrounding cities, including Framingham, have been designated as a "send city" by the North American Mission Board.  According to the NAMB, a "send city" is one that has been identified as having the greatest spiritual need and potential influence throughout North America.  In Matthew, Jesus said to his disciples, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few.  So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send workers into his fields." (Matthew 9:37-38)  By serving Boston and the surrounding cities, including Framingham, we have the chance to influence all of New England.

Framingham is a suburb in Massachusetts located about 20 miles West of Boston. It is the hub of a multi-town region referred to as Metro West. Its size and location offer a highly unique blend of urban, surburban and rural qualities. This creates a very diverse demographic population from young families to ever growing college students to young professionals to retiree communities.

There is an obvious love for the arts while also being the headquarters for several corporate businesses such as Bose, TJX, Staples, and Genzyme.

Framingham Centre boasts a rapidly growing college campus, Framingham State University, which brings a great energy and diversity to the city.

Throughout Massachusetts, Framingham ranks in the top 10% of cultural diversity and holds the top 12% best places to live for millennials.  With the increase in jobs and rapid expansion, it has grown by 4000 people in the last 7 years and shows no sign of slowing down!

Christian Demographics:

→ In 2016, Framingham population reached 71,583
→ Only 1% of the population consider themselves evangelical Christians.
→ There are only THREE evangelical churches within Framingham
1 in 3 consider themselves atheist or agnostic.
